POSITION TYPE CONTRACT, PART-TIME (13 – 18 HRS/MONTH) (2 DAYS/MONTH
All travel expenses are accommodated, personal vehicle or transportation required
Tasks:
- Calculate and prepare payroll
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts (i.e., accounts payable) using manual and computer bookkeeping procedures
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
- Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
Education:
- College/CEGEP
- Familiar with accounting practices
- Accounting software for bookkeeping (e.g., Sage)
Computer technology:
- MS Office
- Excel
Experience:
- 3 years minimum
- Working with First Nations and/or Band councils is a definite asset
- Preparing cash flow projections
- Another asset - working knowledge of GST tax rules and regulations
- Training will be provided for the successful candidate
- Greater familiarity with all things accounting would be a definite asset
