POSITION TYPE TERM (to August 31, 2026), FULL-TIME

Background:

The EmpowerMen Project is part of Ma Mawi and engages men and boys to prevent sexual exploitation and human trafficking. The Corporate and Research Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring outreach activities with the business community to increase awareness, prevention, and innovative efforts to combat sexual exploitation and human trafficking. This includes collaboratively developing, testing, and implementing promising strategies (such as training, codes of conduct, and awareness campaigns) with corporate partners that prevent exploitation by promoting respect, safety, and well-being.

The coordinator will also provide support and guidance to the research aspect of the EmpowerMen Project in collaboration with academic and community partners. The research will increase knowledge about using new human-traffic technologies and exploring solutions for various sectors.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in public relations, social services, policy analysis, community development or a similar field
  • Minimum of three years of experience in social services, research, communications, marketing, policy development, or related field
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in the development and implementation of workplace policies and procedures, an asset
  • Experience in qualitative or quantitative research assets
  • Supports Indigenous values and knows Indigenous cultures
  • The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with partners from various backgrounds (corporate and academic sectors)
  • Ability to convey complex topics in an understandable and convincing way
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing workload
  • Very good presentation skills to engage audiences of different sizes and backgrounds
  • Knowledge of sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and its impact on individuals and communities an asset
  • Results and outcome-oriented
  • Open and engaging personality
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team member
  • Possesses a strong work ethic
  • Driver’s License and access to vehicle
  • Strong computer technology skills, including use of Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to work occasionally in the evening and on weekends
