POSITION TYPE TERM (Aug 18, 2025 – Feb 20, 2026), FULL-TIME
DUTIES
Reporting to the Chair, Nursing Affiliated Programs, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Instructor for Classroom Theory instruction of Health Care Aide students. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are Health Care Delivery, Interpersonal Relationships, Safety in Health Care Settings, and Activities of Daily Living. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assisting student orientation and graduation activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN); a combination of Health Care Aide and equivalent work experience may be considered
- Several years of recent and relevant clinical experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to teach on campus and remotely
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
- Ability to carry out formative and summative assessments
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
- Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
- Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
- Bachelor of Nursing (BN) degree
- Valid and current CPR certificate
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
- Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable Persons Sector Check
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Incumbent must be physically capable of performing the Duties and Responsibilities of the position. A Medical Certificate from a certified Physician will be required
- Incumbents with their Bachelor of Nursing degree must hold a valid and current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- Incumbents with their Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certificate must hold a valid and current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM)
