POSITION TYPE PERMANENT, FULL-TIME

The Security Supervisor will work with the Security team, internal departments, and external partners to support the operations of The Forks site. This person will be “on the ground” with front-line teams, ensuring a proactive approach to community safety, while maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. The Security Supervisor will lead in:

  • Providing hands-on leadership, direction, and mentorship to the Security team while working in uniform on-site.
  • Ensuring smooth day-to-day security operations across The Forks’ 52-acre site, including The Forks Market.
  • Coordinating and supporting incident response, acting as the primary liaison with emergency responders.
  • Managing security schedules and ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
  • Assisting with security equipment maintenance, including regular audits and necessary replacements (i.e., radios, AEDs, PPE).
  • Identifying training and development opportunities for the Security team, supporting performance management and professional growth.
  • Providing feedback and recommendations to improve security operations, policies, and procedures.

The Security Supervisor is someone who:

  • Has a valid Manitoba Security Guard License, Manitoba Occupational Health & Safety, accredited First Aid certificate (intermediate), and Smart Choices certification.
  • Has a strong understanding of customer service and a commitment to creating a positive visitor experience.
  • Is an experienced leader who fosters a culture of trust, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Has exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Can effectively balance administrative and on-the-floor responsibilities, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Can remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations and during critical incidents.
  • Is skilled in problem-solving and independent decision-making when handling escalated incidents.
  • Has experience leading a diverse team and identifying potential leaders within the team.
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a flexible schedule that will include both evening and daytime shifts, weekends, and holidays.
