WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Director of Marketing at Manitobah is a strategic leadership role responsible for orchestrating enterprise priorities across seasons to ensure strategic alignment and maximize consumer impact. This position sits at the intersection of Product, Sales, and Customer Service and is tasked with defining and disseminating our brand positioning across all communications, including our Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies. Additionally, the Director of Marketing will lead our creative and social media teams. The incumbent must have knowledge and appreciation of Indigenous culture and arts to be able to share stories with a culturally appropriate lens.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement the company’s marketing plans, including calendar development, project management, and creative vision to support brand and revenue targets.
- Own the marketing aspect of our bi-annual GTM strategies for new product/seasonal launches, ensuring seamless coordination across product development, merchandising, sales, service, and marketing teams to optimize market entry and growth.
- Conduct market and consumer research and analyze the competitive landscape to position the brand’s voice coherently in the marketplace and across all mediums. Maintain company’s current customer profiles and targeting goals.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and communications, providing data-driven insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Manage and mentor the marketing team, currently consisting of three graphic designers, a social media coordinator, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
- Contract with and lead external vendors and contractors to achieve our objectives.
- Establish and nurture relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and leaders to foster trust, collaboration, and mutually beneficial partnerships.
Ideal Experience
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive Direct-to-Customer (DTC) product marketing experience is required
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing teams, including creatives is required
- Marketing experience in the footwear or apparel industry is preferred
Educational Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, creative communications, business, or a related field is required
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
