POSITION TYPE TERM (Aug 11, 2025 – June 19, 2026, PART-TIME
DUTIES
Red River College Polytechnic requires an instructor for the Nursing BN program. The instructor will deliver both the theoretical and practical aspects of the BN program. Duties include, but not limited to delivery, development, and modification of curriculum, conduct student assessment and, perform lab and/or clinical supervision and evaluation of students, maintain lab and classroom equipment, and perform related administrative responsibilities as required. Specialty areas for immediate consideration are: surgery, medicine, community, palliative, maternity/pediatrics and mental health.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Nursing, a combination of Nursing Diploma and equivalent work experience may be considered
- Several years of recent clinical practice experience
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Manitoba
- Ability to carry out formative and summative assessments
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
- Effective leadership skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
- Ability to teach on campus and remotely
- Strong presentation skills
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
- Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
- Experience developing and instructing distance delivered courses including on-line
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable Persons Sector Check
- Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
- Incumbent must hold a valid College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Certificate
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
- Incumbent must be physically capable of performing the Duties and Responsibilities of the position. A Medical Certificate from a certified Physician will be required
