POSITION TYPE PERMANENT, FULL-TIME (Mon – Fri, 12 am – 8 am)
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for working effectively with team members in providing all aspects of care for children/youth placed in the home, including provision for their physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs.
The successful candidate will meet the following conditions of employment:
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
- Produce satisfactory background checks;
- Have a valid class 5 Driver’s license;
- Be physically capable of performing all child care duties;
- Have current First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
Furthermore, the successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Ability to genuinely and supportively care for children in crisis;
- Ability to provide guidance and supervision to the children in all daily activities;
- Understanding of Indigenous history and its impact on children/families today;
- Ability to establish strong, positive working relationships with co-workers;
- Experience in completing written work such as reports, forms and logs;
- Demonstrated ability to be punctual, organized, consistent and, to show initiative;
- Experience in preparing nutritious meals and snacks;
- Knowledge of the CFS system and standards related to the care of children.
