POSITION TYPE  PART-TIME, 20 HOURS/WEEK

                             Seasonal (Early May to Late September)

Often the first point of contact, the Parking Ambassador welcomes visitors to The Forks with a positive and friendly demeanour. They are responsible for offering assistance and wayfinding, ensuring parking facilities are clean and safe, and monitoring vehicles for payment, issuing tickets and tows as needed. The Parking Ambassador is someone who will:

  • Offer a warm and friendly greeting to visitors, providing assistance and wayfinding as needed.
  • Build and maintain meaningful and genuine relationships with visitors and site tenants
  • Educate visitors on The Forks initiatives and projects, with a strong focus on Railside at The Forks.
  • Ensure parking facilities are clean and safe.
  • Submit detailed and timely daily reports.
  • Monitor lots for parking payments; ticket and tow as required.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting of parking equipment.
  • Report unresolved issues to Parking Supervisor.

The Parking Ambassador is someone who:

  • Is friendly and approachable with the ability to remain calm and empathetic when dealing with a frustrated visitor.
  • Communicates clearly with visitors, ensuring they feel well taken care of.
  • Works independently and manages their own time.
  • Works respectfully with diverse team members and is supportive and helpful.
  • Is able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Is comfortable using parking related technical equipment and apps.
  • Is flexible and able to adapt to changing needs and priorities in a very busy environment.
  • Is available to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Holds a valid Class 5 driver’s license, which would be considered an asset for this role.
  • Is physically capable of working up to 8 hours on foot, indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions including heat, rain, and cooler temperatures.
