POSITION TYPE FULL-TIME
Thursday and Friday 12am-8am and Saturday and Sunday 8pm-8am
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and resilient individual to join our team as an Auntie in a specialized residential program supporting three high-risk teenage girls, currently in the care of CFS. The youth in this home have experienced sexual exploitation, trauma, addictions and complex emotional and behavioral needs. Aunties play a critical role in providing consistent supervision, emotional support, safety planning, and trauma-informed care within a caring, supportive, non-judgemental, culturally appropriate home.
The successful candidate will meet the following conditions of employment:
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
- Produce satisfactory background checks;
- Have a valid class 5 Driver’s license;
- Be physically capable of performing all child care duties;
- Have current First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
Furthermore, the successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Ability to genuinely and supportively care for children in crisis;
- Ability to provide guidance and supervision to the children in all daily activities;
- Understanding of Indigenous history and its impact on children/families today;
- Ability to establish strong, positive working relationships with co-workers;
- Experience in completing written work such as reports, forms and logs;
- Demonstrated ability to be punctual, organized, consistent and to show initiative;
- Experience in preparing nutritious meals and snacks;
- Knowledge of the CFS system and standards related to the care of children.
