Description

Harvest Manitoba is a community focused organization committed to fighting hunger and alleviating food insecurity across our region. Our team members are dedicated to creating positive changes and ensuring that everyone in our community has access to nutritious food. As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by ensuring that food donations are efficiently received, organized, and distributed to those in need.

Responsibilities:

  • Order Fulfillment: Assist in the preparation and shipping of customer orders, ensuring all items are correctly packed and labeled.
  • Warehouse Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooler, freezer, and staging areas, adhering to FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines.
  • Operate Equipment: Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to restock and organize the warehouse.
  • Pickup & Delivery: Drive Harvest Manitoba vehicles including 3-5 Tons to complete any activities related to warehouse operations.
  • Loading & Unloading: Load and unload vehicles safely and ensure proper storage and handling.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory control to ensure product availability and prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep all warehouse areas tidy and organized, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
  • As a member of the Harvest CREW: Support colleagues in achieving operational goals and contribute to the overall success of the team.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about supporting the community, with the following qualifications:

  • Driver's License: Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Physical Ability: Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs., and stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Food Safety Knowledge: Experience with food safety guidelines and hygiene principles, and an understanding of safe-work procedures.
  • Clear Communication: Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Team Focus: Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to collaborate with others to ensure the warehouse runs smoothly.
  • Additional Assets: Knowledge of food security and poverty-related issues.
