POSITION TYPE FULL-TIME
Ronald McDonald House Manitoba is currently inviting applications for a full-time Family Services Manager position. Shift times for the position are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend shifts as required. The Family Services Manager takes on-call responsibility as scheduled or as needed.
As a key member of the Ronald McDonald House Manitoba management team, the Family Services Manager works under the direction of the Senior Family Services Manager to assist with management of the Ronald McDonald House program’s family services. The Family Services Manager is responsible for managing the Evening and Weekend Family Services Supervisors and associates to ensure a welcoming and inclusive home away from home for families seeking the services and supports of RMHC Manitoba’s Ronald McDonald House program. The Family Services Manager works closely with hospital partners, system family services colleagues, and community organizations. The Family Services Manager’s mandate is to assist the Senior Family Services Manager to manage Ronald McDonald House family services harmoniously and work collaboratively with other program managers to maintain the highest standards of organizational and mission delivery excellence.
General Responsibilities:
- Work under the direction and guidance of the Senior Family Services Manager
- Ensure referral and admission procedures follow Ronald McDonald House policies and standards
- Maintain highest level of family service mission delivery by providing support and resources to families
- Liaise hospital partner referral sources and manage external resources
- Recruit and train staff for Ronald McDonald House Family Services coverage as needed
- Ensure staff have effective and strategic input in regards to performance plans and evaluations
- Engage and motivate Family Services volunteers
- Work effectively and collaboratively with all other departments
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Passion for the mission of Ronald McDonald House Manitoba
- Knowledge of non-profit sector, pediatric health, and family-centered care an asset
- Knowledge of legislation on employment standards, occupational health and safety, and human rights
- Professional conduct in a trauma informed environment
- Professional communication skills with a priority to organizational reporting structure
- Highly proficient computer skills, including Word and Excel
- Knowledge of client management system an asset
- Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills with attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and confidentiality skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude coupled with care and compassion
