Description

POSITION TYPE  FULL-TIME

204 Demolition is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Mechanic who enjoys working with a variety of equipment and problem-solving in a hands-on environment. This is not a traditional fleet mechanic role — we’re looking for someone who can diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of tools and equipment used in our daily operations. From lifts, generators, and concrete saws to vacuums, carts, and everything in-between, you’ll play a key role in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently. If you have strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with a range of tools and equipment, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Preventative Maintenance & Repair

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of tools and equipment, including:
    • Fleet vehicles and trailers
    • Forklifts, scissor lifts, skid steers, and other powered mobile equipment
    • Generators, water pumps, vacuums, and dust collection systems
    • Concrete cutting saws and other specialized equipment
    • A variety of small engines, both gas and diesel, 2-stroke and 4-stroke
    • Electric and battery-operated equipment
    • Material lifts, debris carts, and other manual material handling equipment
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments to extend equipment life and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and identify root causes of equipment failures to determine practical repair solutions.
  • Repair or replace faulty components (belts, bearings, filters, etc.).
  • Process and prioritize field repair requests to ensure equipment uptime and reduce lost time on site. When required, complete repairs in the field.
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards.
  • Maintain electronic service records, logs and work orders.

Inventory & Shop Organization

  • Identify required parts and materials for repairs and communicate needs.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and organizing inventory.
  • Track parts, supplies, and commonly used repair items.
  • Keep the shop workspace organized, functional, and efficient.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of small engines, electrical basics, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read manuals, schematics, and troubleshoot effectively
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple repair tasks
  • Experience in small engine or equipment repair (required)
  • Valid driver’s licence (required)
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting (strong asset)
  • Basic welding and/or fabrication experience is an asset
