POSITION TYPE FULL-TIME
204 Demolition is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Mechanic who enjoys working with a variety of equipment and problem-solving in a hands-on environment. This is not a traditional fleet mechanic role — we’re looking for someone who can diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of tools and equipment used in our daily operations. From lifts, generators, and concrete saws to vacuums, carts, and everything in-between, you’ll play a key role in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance & Repair
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of tools and equipment, including:
- Fleet vehicles and trailers
- Forklifts, scissor lifts, skid steers, and other powered mobile equipment
- Generators, water pumps, vacuums, and dust collection systems
- Concrete cutting saws and other specialized equipment
- A variety of small engines, both gas and diesel, 2-stroke and 4-stroke
- Electric and battery-operated equipment
- Material lifts, debris carts, and other manual material handling equipment
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments to extend equipment life and ensure operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and identify root causes of equipment failures to determine practical repair solutions.
- Repair or replace faulty components (belts, bearings, filters, etc.).
- Process and prioritize field repair requests to ensure equipment uptime and reduce lost time on site. When required, complete repairs in the field.
- Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards.
- Maintain electronic service records, logs and work orders.
Inventory & Shop Organization
- Identify required parts and materials for repairs and communicate needs.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and organizing inventory.
- Track parts, supplies, and commonly used repair items.
- Keep the shop workspace organized, functional, and efficient.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong knowledge of small engines, electrical basics, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read manuals, schematics, and troubleshoot effectively
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Organized and capable of managing multiple repair tasks
- Experience in small engine or equipment repair (required)
- Valid driver’s licence (required)
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting (strong asset)
- Basic welding and/or fabrication experience is an asset
