POSITION TYPE FULL-TIME
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure program staff are supported, and provide leadership to the Walking Stick team
- Must be able to understand and work towards program goals, identify needs and implement plans for program development
- Provide support to resource and support teams
- Addressing staff issues, onboarding and integration of new hires in collaboration with the Human Resources Manager
- Addressing staff and participant conflicts
- Collaboratively assign new participants to the most suitable Case Worker or Case Manager, based on individual needs and team capacity
- Work directly with participants, families, and collateral contacts to enhance life and outcomes for program participants
- Advocate for and actively promote the mission, vision, and values of Oshki-Giizhig in all interactions and program activities
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Social Work, Social Justice, Indigenous Studies, Health Sciences, Human Services, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience in a senior leadership or management role.
- Knowledge of The Vulnerable Persons Act and other relevant legislation.
- Extensive clinical experience and a strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and approaches to care and support.
- Experience leading teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of disabilities, developmental disorders, and mental health challenges.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Additional Requirements: Criminal Record Check (With Vulnerable Sector Search), Adult Abuse Registry Check, Child Abuse Registry Check. Driver license and access to transportation. Applicants must have MPI 2 million-liability insurance.
