POSITION TYPE   FULL-TIME

You are 

A Vocational Evaluator. You are responsible for providing individualized vocational assessments. The vocational assessment involves interviewing, testing, and observing work behaviours for the purpose of determining a participant’s academic levels, aptitudes, interests, work habits/attitudes, tolerances and or potential accommodation needs. The Vocational Evaluator is also responsible for producing an assessment report, which will include the test results and recommendations.

Your Role  

  • Responsible for the provision of individualized vocational assessments for the purpose of; identifying and/or confirming a vocational goal, determining academic readiness for post-secondary education, and/or developing a vocational plan/direction.
  • Responsible for administering the appropriate tests/tools, interviewing participants for background information, observing work habits and attitudes, providing feedback to participants, interpreting test results and producing a report that includes test results and recommendations.
  • Complies with privacy and confidentiality as outlined in agency, provincial and federal policies and/or guidelines.
  • Respond to inquiries from referral sources regarding the Assessment Program.
  • Provide participants with an orientation to the assessment process and with information about other EPC services.
  • Track participants’ punctuality and attendance.
  • Responsible for completing outcome reports as required by funder.
  • Responsible for ensuring that there is approved funding for each assigned participant.
  • Authorize training allowances for eligible participants and ensure requisitions are completed accurately.
  • Provide individualized assessments on a fee-for-service basis to external fee payers.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Participate in regular consultation/supervision with the Program Manager.

What You Know

  • Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Psychology
  • Experience administering tests, is desirable
  • Knowledge of testing, test tools and resources
  • Experience working with persons living with a disability, is an asset
  • Knowledge of community resources and the labour market
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of disabilities and any associated functional limitations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work within tight timelines
  • May be required to work weekends and/or evenings
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge and skills in ASL, is an asset
